Since its establishment in 2005, the Neue Philharmonie München (NPhM) has developed into one of the most notable young orchestras in Germany.
This supra-regional orchestra regularly works in phases and frequently performs in the Herkulessaal in Munich, in other German cities and abroad. It offers particularly gifted young musicians – aged 18 to 30 years – the opportunity to be introduced to the profession of an orchestra player under competent and qualified guidance.
Since 2005, many junior and regular music students from all over Germany and Europe have been taking advantage of this offer, and appreciate not only the professional rehearsal process, which is supported by experienced university professors such as Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Peter Sadlo and members of the Symphony Orchestra of the Bayerischer Rundfunk (see instructors), but also the cooperation with renowned soloists and conductors, as well as a wide variety of concert tours abroad with fascinating musical and cultural encounters.
The idea of proficient soloists and experts supporting young musicians is part of the concept of the Musikwerkstatt Jugend e.V., for which it received the Tassilo Culture Prize from the Süddeutsche Zeitung in 2006.
Information about joining the orchestra, as well as all vacant positions for the upcoming projects, can be found on “Membership“.
